Every job is different based on the structure and the needs of the owner. Some people want some elements of a job done so they can complete the rest themselves, while others want us to complete the entire job for them. Based on the services requested, you can expect to pay between $3-$8 per square foot of work area. To find out how much your job will cost, request a quote here.
Not always. Depending on the amount of coats of stain or paint that have already been applied, and the condition of the stain or paint, we are often able to wash the exterior surface and then apply a new coat.
This also depends on the job requirements. For a log home needing a complete strip via media blasting, new staining, sealing, and caulking, the job can take between 3-5 days. For a log home needing a wash and re-stain, usually 2 days is all that is necessary. Barns that need a complete strip and new paint can take up to 5 days, and washing and re-painting can take between 3-4 days. Sheds usually require 2 days for any amount of work required. Obviously the size of your structure will lead to variations in these time estimates.
Results will vary based on your location and the structure's exposure to the elements. Painted surfaces can be expected to last 5-10. Stained surfaces typically last 5-10 years as well, with regular maintenance coats applied every 2-3 years.
Checks typically only need to be filled if they are facing upward to avoid water buildup inside the log, which can lead to rotting. Some owners will elect to fill all checks for aesthetic purposes, but it is not necessary.
